Benny Goodman was born in Chicago, May 30, 1909. He received his first musical training at a local synagogue, and later studied clarinet with Franz Schoepp. Goodman made his debut at the age of twelve, and left home to become a full-time professional clarinetist when he was sixteen. Wolfgang Paalen (Vienna, 1905/1907 - Mexico City, 1959), Austrian painter and writer associated primarily with Surrealism and the Dynatones group. At the beginning of World War II he settled in Mexico, where he introduced the surrealism in painting. He took his own life in Mexico City.
